Bring my 10 year old. Husband will not come. This year I was miserable and lonely, even though my daughter totally loves the experience. Do you have any ideas how to get through a boring and lonely vacation with your extended family? How do you survive when you really want to be at home?

  1. Oh, please!  Do a little research about where you're going and have fun. Buy identification guides and learn about the plants, animals, bugs, etc that are in that area.  Hang out with relatives and catch up. It sounds like a fun adventure to me.

But honestly, you're a grown woman who is set on having a miserable time and probably complains the whole time you're there anyway, so just don't go.

  2. I guess this would be a great opportunity to catch up with everyone - share stories, update each other about how things are going. It is a week! - not very long. Obviously a lot of the time would involve trying to entertain the kids which could also be fun. But besides this you can find some amusement from hanging with a bigger group. Take some champaign, sit on your folding chair and  think that this is a once a year thing, away from home with a very happy daughter.

I hope you enjoy this trip.

    Have fun.
