Hello folks! We're planning to drive from Calgary to Vancouver and we're going to stay in Surrey.

1. Which road shoud we take and how long it will take us to get to Surrey?

2. Which places in Vancouver should we go/see in 3 days visit? Price?

3. Visiting these places... shoud we drive to them or use a city transportation? Your opinion - what would be more convenient?

Thanks to everyone for advice and the time spent!

  1. 1.The Vancouver Aquarium

    2.The Vancouver Zoo

    3.Metro town Mall

    4.Gas Town

  2. 1. take the Trans Canada Highway, youll hit surrey in around 11 hours or so, assuming your driving straight.

    2. -Stanley Park ( Aquarium 18.50 each for adults, walking around is free)

    -Gastown

-Vancouver Island (Ferry Ride from Horshoe Bay is $13 each-i think both ways--There you can go to Tofino or wherever)

-One of the mountains, I reccomend Grouse Mountain in North vancouver, the gondola ride up is like 84 i think unless youre planning on skiing but the season is over. (Grouse has a beautifull view, nice chalet, and wildlife habititats)

-canada Place (free to just walk around in)

    - Granville Island (free if you drive but there is a water taxi you can take but i dont know the price)

    3. City transportation is good if you are staying within the city, but then again then if you drive you can take scenic detours etc. But get a bus route map and decide for yourself.

Not all must see's but if you want something to do....

  3. 1.  The No. 1 (Trans Canada Highway) will take you to Surrey.  There are exit signs to direct you to Surrey.  You will reach Surrey before Vancouver.  The length of time it takes depends on how many stops you make along the way.

    2.  Vancouver Aquarium, Metrotown Mall, Gastown, Lonsdale & Westminster Quays are some attractions accessible via public transport.

    3.  With gas prices as high as they are, and parking can be a problem, taking public transit is a better option.  Many attractions are close to the skytrain, buses or the seabus.
