I was looking at mustangs online particularly the 04 model.. and for some strange reason, the v8 model looks much wider and better in my eyes than the v6. Is it the bigger engine making the car shell bigger? Or are my eyes fooling me?

  1. the v8 is wider and bigger engine. there is a big difference.

  2. the frame of the car should not be bigger but the engine cavity under the hood might be a bit more spacious for the v8 engine. usually the v8 models are "GT" and thus have a few xtra aesthetic upgrades such as body enhancements that make it look more "sporty"

  3. Techno has no idea what he's talking about. Obviously, you didn't want to know if the engine's bigger, youm meant the body. My answer is no, the body's the same. The only difference between the two (besides the engine) is that the frame has different engine mounts. Although it's possible that the owner changed it, it's highly unlikely.

  4. This ones a no brainer. The V8 runs on more cylinders so naturally uses more gas. It has more power but will get a little bit worse gas mileage. Unless you are going to be using this for some off road situations you should get the v6 with gas prices.

  5. It's the performance tires and rims that come on the GT, they are wider than the V6's and give it that great stance..

  6. The frame is exactly the same. It might look wider because of the following things.

    1) The GT has larger side scoops.

    2) The springs on the GT make its stance a little lower

    3) The GT has wider tires compared to the v6
