The four-match clash between India and Australia is set to commence with the boxing-day Test at Melbourne.
Despite conceding that the Indians will have to work hard in an attempt to put their game back on the right track, Murali termed India as a great side with all the potential to crush the Kangaroos.
"India has a very good team and they were at their best prior to this series. It's just a matter of one bad series. Not much should be read from this and you can't write them off on the basis of this. India have a chance to bounce back against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746
which is not as strong as they used to be," said Muralitharan, who grabbed 105 wickets in 22 Test against India.
The great off-spinner also endorsed the notion that injury issues were one of the biggest causes of India’s debacle against the Englishmen. However, he was reluctant to accept that there is too much International cricket going on at the moment, adding that
the injury problems are part of the game.
"As you get older, injuries come more often. Nowadays in every country cricketers play that much amount of Cricket. For me, as much as you play, you get fitter and better player," added the 39-year-old who is the highest wicket taker in both Test and 50-over
cricket, with 800 and 534 scalps respectively.
