Mutual Funds---How to see what stocks are in what MF?

I want to be able to type in a list of individual stocks and have a program generate for me what mutual fund holds the majority of the individual stocks I want.

  1. You can go to either Yahoo Finance http://finance.yahoo.com/ or  MSN Money http://moneycentral.msn.com/home.asp

    You can type in the symbol and it will bring up all the information you need about the fund, including all their holdings.


  2. Okay...in yahoo/finance , when you get a quote for the stock, off to the left are tabs...click on " components" and it will show you which funds have a decent percentage in that particular stock.

    ...and conversely...get a quote for a fund and click on " holdings" to see the funds top ten ... ( if you are really interested go to moneycentral/msn do the same and you'll get the top 25.)

  3. You have to approach the mutual fund and ask for a prospectus.  It will list what industries they use.
