Ok now I'm not so sure why but i have a 2mb connection and when i do a speed test it goes at about 1800kb/s which is ok with me and when i download something directly it goes at 600kb/s but when i use µTorrent it goes at about 50-100kb/s and i went to http://portforward.com/ and fixed everything i should to maximize my speed and its still the same speed. When i go on µTorrent it has a green tick and says Network OK. So my question is, is this the top speed i'm going to get or is there something else i can do to get the same speed as a direct download.

  1. First of all, I sincerely hope that you are not using that program for illegal gains. If you do then it is wrong, and your own conscience should stop you from doing it.

There are a few reasons why you may not be getting your actual download speed. If you have 2 mb speed, then you should be able to download at around 200kB/s. First of all open uTorrent, and click on the green tick icon. In the Connection Type select 2mbit or you could select 100mbit for maximum speed possible, although you won't get 100 mbit speed actually. Once you've selected it as 100mbit (recommended) click on Use Selected Settings.

This should solve the problem. If it doesn't press Ctrl+P and go to Connection tab and see that you have not limitized the download OR upload speed. Set both to 0. Last, rt click on the file being downloaded inside ut and select properties. Make sure download limit is 0 there too.

Hope this solves your problem. If not, there must not be enough seeders who can seed at high speeds such as yours.

  2. Capping your upload in uTorrent should help.  This guide has some links and info:
