  1. That is odd.  My 01 Pathfinder SE rides smoother than my 95 Maxima SE (with low profile summer performance tires).

I bought the 01 Pathfinder with 99,000 miles on it in 04.  I didn't even realize that the slight wander was not normal because I traded an 86 F150 4WD with very rubbery steering for it.  But since my dealer found and replaced a broken front spring, handling is precise with no wander at all.

Did you get factory struts/shocks or some other brand?  Mine are probably original, so I may be due for replacements soon.

  2. You may want to go with a softer shocks or struts.  Also the torsion bar need to be check.  If the torsion bar is too tight your ride will be rough.  The type of tires and air pressure you are using could be a factor too.  Consider using "p" rate for passenger vehicle.

  3. Crisco has some good points.

Overinflated tires can cause a rough ride.

If your springs are sagging, you might be hitting the bump stops on the car.

An improper wheel alignment can cause a rough ride too.

Take your vehicle to a reputable alignment shop. Most places will do a free alignment check. During this check, they will check ride height, and any other suspension components that could cause a problem.

  4. Check tire pressure they suppose to to be around 28 psi if more than that is going to ride like a tank.  I used to own one.

If your rear end is sagging with no load in it or little load in it you might need rear coil springs. Good luck

  5. YOu may need hard springs to carry heavier loads, but also check the front and rear sway bar.
