Question:

My 1/4 mile elapsed time should be 57.66 seconds. Is that still considered as good performance?

My apology, I misread the data previously.

Yin & I had a pleasure trip at a nearby quarter mile racetrack. It was a periodic event with our “All Girls Club”, which we hire a track for a day. There were 16 cars and my Cannondale Synapse Feminine Carbon 3, with Shimano Ultegra SL Compact, 34/50 crank and a Shimano Ultegra 12-27 rear cog.

  1. I think this means roughly a minute for a standing quarter mile drag race, with an exit speed of 23.6 mph. Good, but far from great.

  2. I just wanted to point out that the Olympic bmx racers yesterday were covering nearly the same distance in approximately 44 seconds.  On 20" wheels.  This is a converted time, as their laps were about 330m and the top riders seemed to average around 35 seconds for that.    Not to take away anything from you.....just that it's pretty impressive. Carry on.   :o)

  3. Years ago I did a club time trial.  5 miles out, 5 miles back.  I completed the course in 27 minutes, 27 seconds.  On a slight uphill I crossed the finish line at 32 miles an hour.

As to your performance, I applaud your effort.  Riding a very well equipped bicycle and working hard is good for one's spirit, health, and happiness.

Keep up the hard work, you will only get even better.

  4. 4 minute mile is not 20 it's 15mph. I hope you were riding into the wind uphill.

I'm not sure what your asking. You have all the cyling equipment etc. but not a computer on your bike??? Anyway, I could do this math when I was 9 years old.

BTW, back in the day, my '67 Firebird (400 small block) did the 1/4 in 12.26 @ 110+

  5. That is pathetically slow.  My quarter mile time was 14.3 seconds @ 95 mph; what is more, I utterly left you in the dust!

  6. thats like 4 minute miles...so you were going about 20 mph so thats pretty good

  7. 57.66 seconds @ 23.6 mph.

    EPIC FAIL

    4 minute miles...

    60/4=15 mph

and stop trying to impress people with your bike.
