Question:

My 1 year old puppy seems to have a small growth near his neck. It looks like a dried wound?

It doesn't seem to bother him much. Initially I thought it was some dried plant on his hairy coat and I tried to clean it with a tissue, black powdered stuff came on the tissue. Today I notice that it has grown back into a tiny ball size wound(same as what it was 2 days ago). He has it only on his neck. I could take him to a vet, but my Vet is a complete cheat and rips me off all the time making matters sound lot worse than what it is. I am looking for a new vet, but was wondering if anybody else has seen it in their dogs? Can I get some ointment from pet store for it to drop off?

thanks

  1. my dog had a wound like that from scratching alot. i took him to the vet, he removes it adnd gave some ointment and it was gone! find a good vet. and first take him to your normal vet. if it will cost over $100 to treat it call him a rip off and say your getting a new vet

  2. It's impossible to get a proper diagnosis here. I would not try to self medicate it until I knew what is was. I think its time to start calling around for a new vet asap.

  3. i had a dog with something similar and it was a skin condition but you need to take him to a vet in case it is something worse. if you have problems with your vet now would be a good time to try another one and see how they handle the problem i have found some good vets that way.
