My 10-month old is so fussy these days I don't know what to do?

She's had a runny nose and slight fever (off and on) for 3 days. She had just gotten over a cold a week before, so I thought she just relapsed. But, maybe she's teething now. She screams crying whenever I leave her side. She clings on to my leg and won't let me do anything but hold her or play right next to her. I love holding and playing with her, but doing it 24-7, I just can't. I would usually let her cry, but I think if she's teething real bad or she has a cold, I want to make her as happy as possibly. Help!

PS. How do you tell the difference between severe teething and a cold?

  1. it could be both, at the same time, what i would do is give her cold things to chew on, they will help with teething and her  fever, or if you have one those baby food mesh bag put some frozen fruit in it. it helps with the teething and she gets a treat at the same time. at nite give her an extra long bath with vapor bath to help her nose. try baby pain reliever to help with the fever and pain.

  2. i dont think you can, unfortunately the symptoms are so similar. id just give her infant suspension if she was so bad that you though she was in pain.

also when my girl is like this its the silly things that stop her crying - letting her play in a bath, letting her play with no nappy on, getting down and playing on the floor with her.

  3. It's kind of hard to tell the difference or it could be both try giving her baby orajel or a teething ring or a ice pop to sooth her gums and for the cold give her infant cold medicine or ride it out.

  4. It sounds like teething to me. But since you said she had a cold about a week ago, it might be that too. I would ask your pediatrian, being that she was just sick, they might want  to see her. Whats her temperature? One thing I know for sure is that teething doesnt cause fevers over 100.4 If it goes over that then its not teething. Hope that helps, and good luck! Its tough having a teething baby!

  5.   Oh my...

Allot of children at that age or sick or teething, but it could be age as well. Allot of parents claim,

"If your baby acts that way, they're just spoiled!"

That isn't always the case. From her symptoms, it does seem there is a problem. Most likely teething. Go to a nearby drugstore and get some Tylenol. That helps allot! If she doesn't get better in a week on antibiotics, then call the doctor. She/he may give you a prescription.

A severe cold usually includes stuffy nose, watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, and allot of exhaustion.

    Hope I helped! Good luck!
