You definately want to take your dog to the vet as soon as possible. Constipation can be fatal if left untreated for too long. DO NOT try giving him any laxatives or home remedies of your own. It could make the problem worse. If your vet office isn't open until Tuesday (due to the holiday) then I recommend taking him to an emergency clinic or calling in an emergency line to your vet.

Well, this could be anything, as you didn't give any details at all but it does sound to me like and intestinal obstruction. An intestinal obstruction is a blockage of the small or large intestine. Could even be a foreign body blocking the intestine, like something your puppy swallowed.

Vomiting and a poor appetite are usually the first signs. Some dogs will have diarrhea and it can lead to constipation. The dog will usually have a tense abdomen with few or no bowel movements.

An obstruction is ALWAYS an emergency situation, it is often identified by physical examination of the abdomen and contrast and regular x-rays.

You should get your puppy to the vet as soon as possible as this is an emergency situation.
