Even when he is not touching the controller Mario runs in place but not forward or backward. How do you get him to move and turn in the different directions?

  1. 1. change the batteries in the controller

    2. re-sync the controller

    3. restart the wii

    4. make sure that the controls on the controller are not stuck.

    5. there should be a manual that comes with the game to explain how to move mario around

But I really do think that one of the buttons or the control is stuck or the batteries need to be changed

  2. You are not able to move Mario with the Wii remote.  You must have the nunchuck plugged in, then move around the control stick on the nunchuck.  If that doesn't work, then the batteries may need to be changed.

    How to....

Move Mario - use control stick on nunchuck

Grab star bits - use Wii remote to aim and run over them with star cursor

Shoot star bits - Press B on Wii remote

Attack Enemies - thrust Wii remote up

Jump - press A on Wii remote

  3. Well it sounds to me as if the analog was pressed while starting the game, the analog must remain neutral when starting up a game, this will resolve the problem of Mario moving on his own, in other words don't play with the analog while waiting for the game to start or you will mess it up.

  4. Plug in the nunhcuck, then move it.

It's not a difficult problem. You nunhcuck may be broken, or maybe you're just wierd.

  5. thats not funny sike it is.[haha] well the control is damaged or u bought a used game that doesn't work

  6. You must have the nunchuck connected to the wii remote and you use the analog stick (on the nunchuck) to move mario around. If it is connected and mario is moving by himself then unplug the nunchuck from the wii remote blow it then plug the nunchuck back into the wii remote. If not then turn off your wii console and replace the batteries from the wii remote (i doubt that is the problem tho replacing the batteries).

  7. Are you sure he's doing it right? You use the nunchuck to move....

    lol wow..............

  8. XD hahahahaha!!! XD hahaha.. sorry sorry.. ill stop...haha! XD =) .!!!!

ahh yore killing me XD! hahahhahaha

  9. Im cracking up right now!

  10. Well, when you have the Nunchuck attached, you use that little control stick thing to move him.

Also, to make him jump, press A.

    To shoot star bits, B

When you are in the air, press Z (on nunchuck) to do a "powerful" hit thingy.

    Hope I helped!

(I love SUper Mario Galaxy, I have it)

    =)

  11. if your controller works the following should work.

If you shake the wii remote mario should jump and spin with his arms out.  A makes him jump.  B throws star bits.  you use the pointer to pick up star bits.  You need the nunchuk attached to move about and you use the analog on the nunchuk to move.

if not put in new batteries call gamestop clean the disk

  12. Restart the Wii. Try new batteries in the controller

BTW...question made me laugh too. Thankfully it's the Wii and not your son. My 3 year old plays it (when we let him). It is a great game though, especially for kids.

  13. just move the analog like thing on the nunchuck ....

make sure the nunchuck is connected

  14. Restart the wii, try a new controller. Are you sure you are using the remote AND the nunchuck?

You get him to move by simply moving the joystick on the nunchuck.

Maybe your wii or the game is defective but I doubt it is that.
