My 10 year old sibling likes a 12 year old? Is that wrong?

Ok, I should of mentioned this before you all answered, but, the 10 year old is a boy and the 12 year old is a girl. And I'm pretty sure he likes her more then just a "little crush"

Anyways, I'm not obsessing that much over it, but I was just wondering if two years was REALLY that big of a difference. Also,

I've heard from the girl that she thinks he's a cool guy, but at the same time she is sorta "iffy" about it because she's not sure that it's a good idea.

But, I guess they will do what they want.. right?

A little for now. I mean their too young to be officially dating, and even if they say they are, it's not really a big deal. Let him like who he likes. It's just a young crush..

No. It's only a 2 year difference, which isn't a problem. If it was like a 7 year difference then it would be wrong, but 2 years apart is no big deal

I think it is fine. I mean have you ever liked anybody that was a few years older or had a crush on somebody that wasn't your age? If your sibling wants to go out with this 12 year old that could be a problem. ----- Morggy XD

No, not at all.  The difference is only two years and it's not like they're gonna do anything serious.  It's probably just a crush - I had one on a teacher, and once on a neighbor when I was a kid.  You get over it and move on naturally.  Don't make a big deal out of it.

When you say "like" are you referencing a "boyfriend-girlfriend" relationship. If so, their friendship needs to be re-directed or discouraged altogether.

You didn't mention the gender of these two children. Two females of these ages will often play very well and amicably together. Two boys might be involved in sports and video games. At 12, a child is a pre-adolescent and might have a bit more freedom and a little more sophisticated interests than a 10 year old. The 12 year old might also be heading toward middle school, new friends, and the 10 year old could be left behind.

It sound like this is something for your parents or guardians to monitor carefully.

Dont worry about it, almost all of us have had little crushes like that when we were young. There just kids, they wont do anything horrible, the worst they might do is a little peck on the lip, if the crush were to go anywhere, which I doubt. Besides, there just little kids, even if they ended up going out, its not like it would last for long anyways, they have there whole lives ahead of them. Dont sweat it too much.

It's not wrong in any sense. Pre-teen children always like children a few years older than them.They look up to them.Be thankful the age difference isn't bigger!

I would be very supportive for my sibling but always watch what happens very closely.A 12 yr old can be quite naive and innocent too.

no its not wrong he/she is just a kid that has a childish crush half the time they are just so cute with the way they tell you that they like you. just all you can do is just tell him/her that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend and maybe i the future then the little one can get his/her chance!they will be so happy thinking that they will at least have a chance

If they like that 12 year old, there is nothing wrong with it. Your sibling is 10 years old, and is at the proper age to start experimenting with their feelings. There is nothing to be worried about, because this is like a 5 year old liking a 7 year old. It is a harmless crush, and they will most likely be over it in approximately a month, or even less.

no theres nothing wrong with it... it will also depend on how the child interpret the word "like" maybe its just a crush...its natural to admire someone even if it is still young...it will enlighten their day when they see there crushes...just take a good look of your child if he go beyond the limits...
