I have to keep buying him new sneakers before they are even broken in.

I've tried newspaper, cotton and deodorant socks. I am now trying to wash them in the washer with pine cleaner. What else should I try?

  1. Dr Oz, a regular guest on the Oprah show, answered this question as follows:

"I've tried everything from repeated washing to open-toed shoes, but the smell is still horrible. What can I do about my stinky feet?"

It's no surprise that so many people's feet smell. After all, Dr. Oz says, there are a quarter-million sweat glands on your feet. "You can generate about a half a liter of sweat from your foot in a day. It really does make a lot of juice."

But that sweaty foot is not the direct cause of the stink. After all, sweat is sterile. That pungent smell is actually caused by fungus or bacteria—such as athlete's foot. "Take your shoes off and look to see if you've got a little bit of a pitting on the bottom of your foot, on the sole. The pitting is … almost like little pinholes in the bottom of your foot, and it usually is a little bit white. That's an example of a fungus infection," Dr. Oz says.

So how can you get rid of the bacteria? Dr. Oz's remedy has a cure in the bag. Brew up some mild iced tea and put your feet in it for about 30 minutes a day for a week. "The tannic acid in the tea will actually tan your foot a little bit, which will dry it out," he says. "That's helpful in reducing the amount of sweat, and the odor as well."

    You can also try:

-mixture of vinegar (NOT apple cider vinegar), and hot water, and soak feet for 5-10 minutes. Rinse; clean with soap to remove the vinegar smell.

    For the Shoes:

-air out your shoes for at least 24 hours after each wearing, so don't use the same pair two days in a row.

-Alternate athletic shoes so they can dry between workouts.  Always wear socks - especially when you exercise - to soak up moisture.  If shoe odor won't go away, get rid of the shoes.

-You can use baking soda, cornstarch, and essential oils to make an inexpensive, odor-absorbing foot powder.  Sprinkle it in your shoes at night, shake them around to spread the powder, and dump it out in the morning.

  2. Did you try, filling a bin with tea and let you childs feet soak in there for a bit.

That should clear the smell right up :]!

  3. Vinegar and water foot soaks help. Also you should probably buy some foot powder or spray.Tell him to change socks at least twice a day, that should help.GOD-bless

  4. Their is a foot deodorant that might help. You can search the nearest drugstore and see if they have any types of foot creams or deodorants that eliminate the odor. He can also try washing his feet and soaking them in salt water or tea. I heard that baking soda helps reduce armpit odor, and maybe that can work for his feet as well. The feet are just like the armpits, and even regular deodorant or foot powder can help. Make sure he washes his feet daily and carefully.
