  1. he is probably a deep sleeper with a small bladder as many bedwetters are...and yes, he should probably be put back in goodnites...unless you like having to do laundry everyday. He probably won't like the idea of being put back in the night diapers...but tell him what would he rather do wake up in soaking wet pj's and bed...or wake up in a wet diaper and just take it off when you get up...and he'll be perfectly dry once he takes of the diaper...while in a wet bed and pj's...he'd have to clean up and take a shower every morning... And if he hasn't seen a doctor about this yet please do...because it could be more serious than just bedwetting ...it probably isn't but it is always good to be careful.

  2. yes, or else you will want to kill yourself in frustration.  he is likely a deep sleeper, and it won't make a difference if you wake him during the night to use the bathroom - he'll never learn to wake up to the full bladder response that way.  there are alarms that you can attach to his underpants that react to small amounts of fluid - the theory is that the alarm will wake him while he is relieving himself, and this will eventually trigger the response to wake up when he needs to go.  be patient, it may take some time.  it's likely more frustrating to him then it is for you.  good luck!

  3. NO,you should probably try to wake him up ounce a night around 1 or so to try and go to the bathroom.

  4. Although it is normal for children to have bedtime wetting (nocturnal enuresis) until age 10, it is something to be watching closely after age 5.  I would have a Dr. exam him and run some tests.  Some causes can be stress, obesity, milk allergies, sleep disorders, sexual abuse, diabetes and more.

There are 2 types, primary - where the child never developed nocturnal control, and secondary, where the child begins wetting after having no accidents for 6 months or more.
