Question:

My 10 yr old quarter horse has a swollen leg?!?!? help?!?!?

she recently got into a scuffel with my other two horses and kick the barn and the horse numerous times. now it is like over a week later and the swelling has not gone down...any advice?!?

  1. Yeah, call your vet and have them evaluate your horse.  It may be an injury that needs treatment or a specific program of rehabilitation (perhaps stall rest and limited on-lead walking for a period of time).  At the very least, the vet can give you some pain killers and anti-inflammatories to make your horse more comfortable.


  2. have you tried walking it out.....can she put weight on it?  have you been running cold water on it or tried sweating it out.....what have you done....where exactly is it swollen?  need to know....  sometimes swollen legs are not that big of a deal and can be doctored yourself.....  nobody be yellen at me cause i do.... but there is a time to take them to a vet and a time when its really nothing that big....just a little time and home doctoring'
