Question:

My 11 week old kitten is limping after his vaccine yesterday. Do I need to take him to the vet?

He took his shot fine- didn't cry or fight or anything, and I didn't notice him limp when we first got home. However, last night i tried to get him out from under the coffee table and he hissed at me. He came out and I noticed he's limping, and is still doing it this morning. Should I give him a few days or take him back to the vet today?

  1. you should probably wait one More day because maybe he hurt himself somewhere and that why hes limping and if its still going on the take him to the vet :]

  2. He's probably just having a reaction to his shot (plus the *indignity* of going to the VET!).  If he's not much improved by this evening though, do call the vet first thing tomorrow morning.  One day of a reaction is pretty normal, more than that isn't.

  3. Where did they administer the shot?  My mom has a calico and LAST APRIL when we took her to the vet to get her shot updates, the vet said to just leave her in the cat carrier.  She hissed and carried on, so we did and he gave her the shot like, in the front of her body above her arm.  She holds that arm up now, like is still bothers her.  She doesn't actually limp on it, but its obvious something bothers her about it.  Maybe give it another day, but if you are super worried just go ahead and take him today.  Good luck
