  1. >Maybe it is because of the age diffrence. 11 is a verry harsh age for some kids. the "tween" and teen years are the hardest years of our lives.

    >>So it could not be the meds

  2. Well, obviously they don't have the same personalities. Think of one of your friends and you. Do you both always have the same amount of energy? When you were in school, did you or any of your classmates act immature at times? your two children aren't identical twins; your son's fine.

  3. no offense but look at the male role model verses the female role model in your family, boys tend to act like dad or a male and girls tend to act like mom or a female, is the male always going going and doing things that your son might be watching and feeding off of?and boys are naturally active.and need an outlet.

  4. 1) boys are more active and outgoing than girls in general

    2) they take the same dosage of medicine but he is 3 years older and bigger so it is actually less for him than it is for her

    3) hormones are starting to play a big part in his life

PLEASE do not let him feel that you are compairing him to his sister.  He is different that is what comes with siblings and you will never have two that are just alike.  Besides S=satisfactory which is nothing to be ashamed of it just says he could be a little better.

  5. You answered your own question. Your son has ADHD. Your daughter does not, unless you left something out. You might want to talk to your son's doctor about a medication adjustment if it seems as though the ritalin is not helping.

  6. Probably because your son has entered puberty on top of everything.  How come you stoop to comparing your children rather than treating them as individuals?  They aren't clones of one another.  One is a boy one is a girl, they are different ages, they are totally different people.

  7. Boys just seem to be more hyper and he is 11. lol. have you met a 11 year old boy? it's really common for him to act like that! when i was in 5th grade i dont think there was one boy in my class who didnt act up! He is getting close to middle school.....maybe even in it....he is just starting.lol.

  8. All kids are different, and ADHD medication is notorious for working for some people and not others. I'm not sure why you would expect it to affect them the same.

I suggest you take your son back to the doctor, with his report card (are there any details on it about his behaviour issues?) and discuss whether the medication is helping him and what the alternatives are.
