  1. She's too young. At best she should consider being a mother's helper. That would be ok at her age.

  2. my daughter is eleven and she is a fine babysitter.

she charges $4- $8 depending on the amount of kids.

at the age of 11 thjat's the best u can ever get.

    hope i helped. :)

    o and good luck :)

  3. The Red Cross will not certify a child under the age of 12 for baby sitting and I don't know too many parents who would pay for an 11 year old to babysit...except as perhaps a "mother's Helper" while the mom is busy doing something else....

  4. I babysit and I dont charge a given amount

  5. She's not even in midde school!

I would wait until she's 16 years old and have her take classes to get fully certified as a babysitter. Nowadays, parents are picky for choosing the right babysitter.

No offense but your daughter is too young. Other parents in your neighborhood will just laugh and reject her. Like I said before, wait until she's 16 years old and have her take classes.

  6. ok well i have a daughter who is turning12 too! anyway she likes to babysit and she pays   $3.50 an hour for 1 child

  7. She's too young to babysit. She isn't responsible enough for someone else's child(ren). I wouldn't hire her.

  8. I think about $5 per hour and maybe a dollar or two more per kid.

  9. Forget What everyones saying im the same age and im babysitting please she should probalby get $10 an hour not that much but just to have some extra cash! its a great job!

  10. well since she's still a beginner and is going to be looked at as a kid so probably 7 dollars an hour to draw customers. then as they notice she's good raise the price a lil and so on.

  11. she cant do it

you have to be at least 13 =D

    sorry

  12. I was 11 when i began babysiting. I was approached by a neighbor to watch there 3 kids. ages at the time 2,4,4. two boys and a girl. they didnt think i was to young and neither did i. we discussed together how much they would pay me, and we decided on $8 per hour. now i am 14 and i make $10-12 per hour. And i am babysitting the same people plus more.

  13. i agree...shes too young, i dont want a kid watching my kids.

after that last little outburst im wondering if mom is even mature enough. there is no need to get upset  just because in OUR (not are) personal opinions 11 is too young to be babysitting.

some people just dont care who they dump their kids  on.....and most of the people who will just hire anyone to babysit dont have very well behaved children, so good luck with that, but the only person that watches my 2 is their grandmothers.

  14. In jsut about every state they have to be at least 12. I would never hire an 11 year-old to watch my kids. My niece is 11 and she is nowhere NEAR ready to take on something like that.

  15. She shouldn't charge anything... because she shouldn't be babysitting at 11. I don't care HOW "mature" she is.

  16. 11?

wellll.. i wouldnt charge anything. usually the family you babysit for just gives you money on what they think is the amount you deserve.

  17. How much are other girls in your area charging?

  18. She is pretty young, and most parents are reluctant to leave their children with another child when they go out. Based on experience and age she is not going to be able to charge very much. When I began babysitting at 14 I made about $3 an hour. As she gains more experience, maturity, etc she will be able to increase price.

Your best bet would be to find her a mothers helper job. This allows her to gain experience in child care, while still having the support(when needed) of an adult. Babysitting is a huge responsibility and at least in my opinion is not something that should be left to someone so young. Maturity is nothing in an emergency, even an adult panics and has trouble functioning in major emergencies.

I had my first emergency(child cut her head open on playground equipment), when I was working at a daycare. I was in my 20's and still panicked at the sight of a child with blood running down her face. It took a few minutes to know what to do(get gloves, apply pressure, etc). A young child does not have the ability to handle a real emergency that comes up. Can she handle serious injuries, chocking(I have had to help an almost chocking child twice), a child that is crying, etc.

I would have her charge about $5 an hour, maybe the cheaper price will get more people to hire her, but personally I would rather pay more for a sitter I knew I could trust.
