Question:

My 12 week old ferret kit has mucous in his eyes when he wakes up. What is this?

It isn't crusty at all and it isn't green. It is white. It is only in his inner eyes and only when he wakes up. He is a happy playful 12 week old kit.

  1. I'm pretty sure it's normal since dogs also get that.


  2. I cant see it...I don't know, but I do know that it isn't normal.  It could be an eye or sinus infection.  It could be the flu.  It could be a food allergy.  Who knows!  I really think you should make an appointment with your vet to rule out anything serious.

  5. This could be several things. A lot of petstore ferrets have been getting this and something called DIMS lately. Of course, it could just be an eye infection, stress, or a "cold".
