  1. Hi there,

    Don't be concerned at all!

The first period can often continue for more than a week. Often the first periods are very irregular, and very irregular in length too. They may last less than the conventional 7 days, or more.

If it continues for more than 2 weeks, seek the advice of a doctor as this could cause anaemia if it carries on too long, but just make sure she's getting enough iron in her diet whilst this is going on - as her body is not used to this kind of bleeding.

But don't worry, she'll be fine. It's just a little bit of a pain for her i should think!

  2. first periods are crazy and have a mind of there own. give it another day or so and maybe ask your local doctor or chemist??

  3. It is perfectly normal. My first one lasted a little over two weeks, and was heavy the whole way through. The only concern really is that it might ruin a pair or of panties or two, lol.

    Hope I Helped! ~<3

  4. dont worry about it

  5. I started my period at 12 and I remember it being quite horrific and very heavy. We got told that it is just your bodies way of kick starting itself.

I unfortunatley have continued to have an awful time with mine and I hope that your daughters settle down.

However if it goes on for more than 2 weeks I would consult a doctor just to be on the safe side.

  6. Um I don't think you should be too worried. When my friend started hers, her first lasted for 12 days and was really heavy. If it lasts for much longer and is still very heavy maybe talk to a GP.

  7. Periods at first can be irregular etc, if this continues on a regular basis and her periods are lasting more than 8 days, then it would be a good idea for her to see her GP and this can marginally increase her chances of having iron deficiency anaemia

  8. If it's like, continuous, then no.

If not, then I still suggest you see a doctor.

I mean, the last time blood came out of my hole, I found out I needed surgery. ):

  9. Cos shes just started you shouldnt be that concerned her body is getting used to the period cycle thing. But if you are that worried then go to the Doctor's. If I were you I would wait until the next time she comes on her period if it is the same then visit your Doctor.

  10. no, some girls when they first begin can have their periods for up to 10 days and will gradually decrease, it is normal

dont ask how i know this

    hope that helped :D

  11. Well that does not sound normal at all. Normally, you first period is slow, and only lasts a few days. I would make a doctor appnt.

  12. well that's normal!!

cause at the beggining of the period...the period is not right!

sometimes is just a little bit or doesn't appear!!

    that's completly normal!!

    that hapend to me too!!

    when I was 10!

    now I'm 13 and it's normal!!

but she should go to the doctor just for rotine!!

    :)

  13. Don't worry. It will probably be pretty irregular for the first while.
