And his parents allow this? What can be done about this? What do YOU think about this?

  1. i think thats horrible! its gross and so bad for your health! maybe you can tell your parents and they can try to talk to his and change their mind about it.

  2. Nothing can be done about it. His parents presumably allow it because they have no choice -- nicotine is as addictive as any drug known, and so as generations of parents have discovered, it's virtually impossible to force a kid to stop smoking once he's started. The most they could hope to achieve is forcing him to smoke out of sight, which accomplishes nothing. And note that half of all smokers have their first cigarette by age 13. There are always a few kids who smoke in elementary school and junior high school, and by the time he's 14, there will be many. He's a couple of years ahead of the pack, nothing more. No sense in getting hysterical about a commonplace behavior.

  3. Mind your business,. Thats the best thing to do. I dont think they care what you think- obviously the parents judgement is impared...

  4. stay out of it,

they let him smoke cause they know whether they aprove ofit or not hes still gonna do it.

    remember this is an addiction.

it would be very unfair of his parents to FORCE him to quit because its not that simple.

i know lots of 12 year olds who smoke

i know 11 year olds who smoke

a 12 year old helped teach me how to smoke weed.

    so yeah

this isnt a big deal to me lol

  5. call the police or child protictive services, that really dumb to let him smoke at that age, when i was 18 my parents still would not let me smoke at their home and i respected their request.

  6. Personally, I would mind my own business. I would just shake my head and walk and make sure he nor his parents throw that c**p in my yard.

  7. it's basically none of your business. i know its sad whatever that the parents could care less. but you just have to let it be. he is not your child.

  8. You Have To Call The Cops, You Have a Reason, You Don't Want to Breath Bad Environment, you can ask first then call the cops then they'll see you at least try ed. Hope This Helps.

  9. maby none of your bizz? i dunno be like dude thats bad you will die soon or like santa doesnt like smokers...

  10. show him exactly what ciggeretes can do to not just his lungs but every where else.  google it you will find lots

    he is way too young

    good luck

  11. If the parents are buying them too, that is also illegal. You do what you gotta do.

  12. he's 12 whether the dad knows or not isnt necessarily going to stop him, so i think you should just probably stay out of it

  13. Ok people, calm down. It is NOT illegal for the kid to smoke, only to purchase cigarettes.

It is extremely bad parenting if the are allowing it. How can you be sure that they are? Are you going by the kids word or the parents? I started smoking at 12, and my parents had no idea. When they did find out, I was in tons of trouble. So, I would defiantly mention it to his parents just to make sure that they are aware. If the parents have knowledge, and give their consent, there is nothing that you can do. Really. It's on them. Do not call Child Protective Services as some people have mentioned, that is just ridiculous. They are there for abused and neglected children, not something like this. Do not call the police. They can't press any charges. You've got a kid that you know is experimenting with cigarettes and you not even sure if the parents know or gave consent, so really, what have you got? Find me the law that can be pressed on this matter. Good luck. I've been in law enforcement for 10 years, there is no way you can do anything about some one elses parents and allowing their kids to smoke.

  14. don't do anything, at 12 he should be making his own decisions, either way if you stop smoking your lungs can repair themselves after 5 years.

  15. i think its wrong, and sad that this kids parents have no regard for his health...

unfortunately nothin can really be done, if u talk to him u should encourage him to stop but other then that theres nothin u really can do

  16. go join him, until the  cops come

  17. Call the cops on them... That is very much illegal

  18. actually he is right. after i only heard a few months of being smoke free your lungs start to kinda filter out and get ride of the gunk that has been put there by cigarettes. but just cause of that doesn't mean you are risk free down the road. and honestly i think you should stay out of it. say what you want about how you feel obligated to do something but he isn't your kid. and when i was about 12 or 13 i went through this rebellious stage where i started smoking and when my parents found out it made them so angry that i continued to do it, i wish they would have pretended they didn't mind.

  19. Well, That sucks, but to each their own.

& most organs in your body actually do repair themselves.
