In my sons upstairs room he had a young ball python, about 13-14" in length. the snake was there early that morning, and then when we returned that afternoon around 4pm, it was gone, the latch had been left open, the rooms door was closed, and is seald tight, no room there, but near the shelf that held aquarium is a window, and the corner of the screen is loose, and it could easily fit through there, but would the shy, nocturnal python go out into the broad bright daylight? with all the noise of the Los Angeles 91 free way only 100' away? i searched his entire room for 3 hours, and no sign of it:(

  1. i would still keep your eye out cuz i think it would go hide somewhere but yet...if its as hot at your place as it is here in ohio....it may have went to lay in the sun somewhere???

  2. well i had a ball python that got out for about a couple of weeks, i thought he had gone outside too. about 3 weeks later we found him in the bookcase. Well he died on me but i have another one and he got out too. He finally got hungry and came out. but before he did we searched for hours on end and never found him. Best thing you can do is just wait he will either scare the c**p out of you and you will find him or he will just come out to let you know that he is hungry. But in about 2 months if you don't find him then he is gone. Sorry.

  3. I don't think it would have gone out the window....but you never know.

check the smallest, tightest, darkest places you can find in the room.

  4. the snake probably wouldn't have gone out the window however if it did it probably wouldn't have survived a second story fall.  snakes can hide anywhere i've found mine in the couch under the cushions...under a table (there was a shelf that one of our ball pythons liked to hide in)...found one on a table leg crawling up it (ball python also)...found a snake in a dresser drawer...behind a blanket chest...found one under its vivarium...found one on top of another snakes vivarium.

snakes can get anywhere and they can get through tighter spaces than you would think that they could...they can squish themselves really flat to get under doorways and stuff.  look in shoes in the bed everywhere you can think of.  we had one ball python that was gone for about 3 weeks...finally one night we heard a crash and there she was on top of one of the tables in the snake room...she was cold and hungry but she was fine.

    good luck!
