Like I said she is 13 wks old. The first3 wks of her life she didn't p**p at all (except for the first 2 days). Her r****m was too tight and the doctor did a procedure on her so her bowels could pass through the muscle right there. Well for about a week she pooped fine and normal. Since then her p**p is watery and very very slimy. I know it sounds gross but I always get great help on her from other moms... Anyway, it is slimy like thick mucus. She poops about 5 or 6 times a day and it is always like that. Her doctor does not seem concerned and keeps saying it will clear itself up! Has anyone had this with their babies? I am a mother of 4 and my other 3 never had p**p like this. She does not act sick or seem uncomfortable...I am just worried because I know it's not normal....Any ideas????

She is bottlefed, soy formula, because all her siblings were lactose intolerant so we just started her on that- Instead of going through the same pain my other children did.

  1. As long as she is gaining properly and doesn't seem have a tummy ache, it should be o.k.  But if your mommy instinct is telling you other wise, ask to be referred to a pediatric gastroenterolgest.

  2. My baby is breastfed and has movements like that occasionally too.  I wouldn't be too worried about it.  It does go away.  If you doctor is not concerened with it, you shouldn't be either.

  3. take her to another doctor and get a second opinion. take a sample of the poo with you so he/she can see what you are talking about.

  4. I wouldn't worry too much.  If your doctor isn't worried you should be fine.  My little guy has those kinds of BM when he's in a rapid growth spurt and my hubby is a DO and says everything is fine.

  5. do you give her  cool boiled water to drink  maybe she is not lactose  intolerant like your other children have you asked your doctor about it
