Question:

My 13 year old friend has mono. is it abnormal for someone that young to have it?

  1. Mono is one of the most common child-hood, yes, child-hood diseases one can "catch". Mono stays in the body for life and can pop up again at any time.

    Mono can be contracted by kissing or by drinking off of someone's soda (don't do that... it's gross).

    A friend of mine caught it from her little sister because her little sister liked to drink from the drinking fountain with her mouth on the spout and I guess someone else with mono liked to do the same thing. That really sucks for your friend though, he'll have that the rest of his life. Don't kiss him unless you want to go through the same problems.

  3. Not if they also keep having bronchitis, pneumonia, allergies.

  4. Nothing abnormal at all. I can vividly remember in Junior High School when all the water fountains in the school had to be sanitized because of folks catching Mono from them.
