My 13 year old niece has been sunbathing nude, should I tell her parents?

She is visiting us for the summer and I have caught her naked on o deck and she has also been going to the local nude beach. Her parents don't know.

The nude beach I'm not sure kids are aloud in there with a parent (there is no age limit last time I check). So talk to her first, because telling mom is kinda weird, you'd probably get in more trouble for her already doing it, rather than it was her..

She is a minor, and still the responsibility of her parents. I think this is something they should know about. I would talk to her about it, then tell her parents. Now if she were of age, that would be her decision to make.

talk to your niece first, tell her you know what she's been doing and that she needs to stop; and if she won't listen tell her you will tell her parents if she doesnt. If you keep catching her, tell her parents: you gave her the warning and thats enough.

This also tells you that she worries about how her body looks nude, so, she may be doing some innapropraite things that she shouldn't be doing at her age. Also, she's staying with you and if you don't take charge now, her parents may find out on their own and she'll never come back to your place. She may find out that you know and think you're okay with it and she can do whatever she wants, too.

It isn't illegal for her to go to a nude beach at 13. Many CHILDREN go... Whats wrong with her sunbathing nude? She isn't hurting anyone. Don't look at her while she does it either. Just let her do it. Let her have privacy while she gets a tan.

I sunbathed nude at 13, but I was also having s*x at that age. I would tell her parents because her concern over her naked body may hint at the fact that she is sexually active.

if her deck is secluded and no one can see her, then i guess that's fine.

but the nude beach is a complete other thing. talk to her and her parents and be sure to explain that, as comfortable with herself as she is, she shouldn't be going to nude beaches. the sunbathing is up to her parents.

It is a good thing that she seems confident enough with herself to be able to do this. However, she should not be parading herself on a nudist beach, unless supervised by a parent who has agreed to it, at her age. It's dangerous. She is still a child, and she is just as at risk as anybody when there are peadophiles and rapists everywhere these days.

Having said that, If she is sunbathing naked on your deck, in a closed in garden, where no-one except for yourself and other occupants of the house can see her, and if no-one is embarrassed by her actions, or has any other objections to it, then she should be free to do it. However, I think you should inform her parents of what you're allowing to make sure it's alright with them. Maybe tell your neice not to go to the nudist beach again and if she does, inform her parents.

Nude sunbathing in moderation is a healthy thing.  As I see it there should be no problem on the patio if it is not open to view.  The nude beach is another matter.  Although it is legal  for people of all ages to be at the beaches where I've been; I would consider it irresponsible for her to be there unless accompanied by a responsible adult.  Perhaps other family members would be willing to go with her.

Perhaps her parents already know about the nude sunbathing.  In any case you should mention it to them.  Try to help them to be understanding about this and not to see it as "problem behavior".

Did she ask permission before going to the nude beach?  If she did not, then THAT is the problem here and definately needs to be addressed.

Sounds to me like she's worried about tan lines, although you said she goes to the nude beach, makes me wonder who else is seeing her nude. I would tell her parents, that is too young to be strutting around sans clothes.

If shes on your deck and its closed off...I dont see the problem with that. But going to a nude beach is defenatly strange.

My freind sunbathed nude at that age and so have I(I dont do it because I get burned to easly). Just because shes sunbatheing nude doesnt mean shes sexually active. I did it because I didnt like tan lines lol

yu probably don't want to get her into a bunch of trouble  by telling her parents. you should talk to her and tell her she shud not sunbathe nude unless she is somewher like in her privacy fenced backyard wen nobody is there.  and tell her that she shud not go to a nude beach untill she gets older and that if you catch her doing it again thn u will tell her parents. but if u have to u shud tell her parents bcuz it is a bit of a safety issue since she is so young. there is nothing wrong with sunbathing nude if nobody else is around and nobodY can see her but.....she is only 13.   good luck   like i sed if u cn't handle the situation urself thn yes tell er parents.
