  1. Your dog is the appropriate size, they aren't supposed to be massive dogs, they are supposed to be lean and sleek. People think Dobermans are supposed to be huge and they aren't a huge breed, they are more of a medium size. Your dog is actually on the large side of what is normal for a Doberman. He may still fill out a bit, but I wouldn't plan on him getting much bigger.

  2. he will gain weight but probably not height

  3. That's the height standard for a female Great Dane.

And you want the dog to be bigger?

Is this a male or female?

Males height standard (the height required for that dog to be shown) is 26 - 28 inches at the withers.  This height is generally reached by pups at 6 months which is the age when dogs can be shown (AKC).

Daft pup huh?  Those males are 'daft' for a long time.

But you gotta love 'em for it.

  4. generally your dog will grow until it is 2 years old. a good way to check is to test its skin, if it still has loads of loose it still has room to grow. make sure you feed it proper dog food as treats like chocolate will make it huge and vicious, not a good combination for that breed.

  5. NOOOO

  6. what u want bigger is important

  7. It looks like he's full grown in height. He may or may not gain some weight.

  8. Well, I see you are the same person who asked about studing.  If you measured him correctly, 28 inches at the withers is right on target for his height.  He will probably not get any taller, but will still continue to "fill out" depending on his genitics.  Height is only one small aspect of his conformation.  How is his rear angluation, topline, ear set, planes, shoulder placement, front end assembly, bite, missing teeth, etc.?  As I stated in my last answer, he is not old enough to be certified for some of the things you need, but you can have him tested for VWD and thyroid at any age.  BYW, have you counted his teeth?  Do you know how many teeth he suppose to have on both the upper and lower jaw?  As I said, do some more homework before you make a mistake you can't take back.  Pulling in a few hundred dollars for stud service is nothing in comparison to the problems the new owners of the pups could have.  Think about others 1st before you do something you will regret.  Also, some stud dogs can have a drastic temperment change once they have been used.

  9. At 14 months he should be as tall as he is going to get. He will however or should at least do some more 'filling out' - ie: develop more  muscle. Larger breeds of dogs tend to 'mature' at a later age somewhere between 3-5 years of age. I have a large mix breed that is 3 now and is just appearing to have fully filled out, although at times he still appears to be a daft pup, lol
