Got Luna when just a little fish, now she is huge. When got her she would swim on her side alot. Thought she was going to die but she lived and thrived. Her swimming is actually comical. When she stops moving her fins, she goes belly up and swims around upside down, then do a flip and swims normally for a little bit. Can anything help her? 2 other fish - Neville and Harry are just fine. Thanks ahead.

  2. Sounds like swimbladder. start feeding her peas sometimes and veggies as they will float to the bottom, too much gasping at air for food causes trapped air in the fish and they become very floaty =]

  3. Swimbladder problem sounds right.  You can prolong its life with air pump for water.  Luna won't make it without an air pump in water.  Go get one from Walmart or somewhere still open so you don't regret it.

  4. Luna has a swim bladder problem.  Most likely there isn't much you can do about it if she's had it this long.  You should have your fish in at least a 40 gallon tank for proper growth.  If they are kept in smaller quarters their organs continue to grow while their body remains small causing organ failure.

  5. swimbladder problem you can still have a chance though quarantine with rocksalt and diet do not feed for 3 days and observe if the bouyancy problem is still the same coz sometimes they suck too much air or the food they eat good too much air in which cant go out of its body.

  6. prepare for a funeral soon

  7. im not sure whats wrong with her but her name matches her personality i like how you named your fish after the harry potter charters hope you find out what is wrong

  8. You could try the pea cure. Defrost and peel a pea and have her eat it. It's actually good to feed your goldfish greens on occasion. But peas for some reason do the trick. They also like blanched spinach.

  9. Well, the only way I know of treating swim bladder disease is thawing out a frozen pea. The taking the shell off and breaking it up into pieces that can fit in the fishes mouth. Feed him 1 pea a day and it should clear up. Swim bladder disease is common in fancy goldfish. A way to prevent it from coming back is by feeding him food that sinks. By eating food that floats st the top of the tank, when he eats it he also swallows air, which can make swim bladder disease worse, or even cause it!

  10. She has swim bladder problems. This is usually caused by the fish gulping air while eating off teh surface. There are a lot of different methods that are supposed to cure this, but I don't know which are valid and which are quacks. My reccomendation is to create a free account at tetra-fish.com. You can email the experts there and they will give you a prompt answer. They were really helpful when my goldfish had fin rot. From now on though, you should feed your fish sinking pellet foods. I hope Luna recovers soon! :)

  11. Your goldfish most likely has swim-bladder disease. This can be caused by different things, such as feeding your goldfish too much or a bacterial infection. If it is a bacterial infection, it is almost impossible to cure and it will spread to your other fish, so you should put your goldfish in a separate temporary tank. Try to feed your goldfish some kind of vegetable, like lettuce or a small pea, so its digestive system can clear out. Hopefully she will get better good luck!!
