My 14 year old is a tight end on the Freshman football team. Should he be wearing gloves.?

Question

First of all lets say I'm a mom and don't know much about the sport. I see a few of the other kids wearing football gloves so I asked mt son if he wanted some. Now I am wondering if he should be wearing gloves. I don't want to be that annoying mom that asks the coach a million questions. And his dad is not around so any help would be awesome. Thanks :)

its a personal decision.  I tryed them when i was 11 and frankly i found it was no easier to catch the ball with them, and when it rained it made it impossible.  The pros where gloves, but they are probably really expensive and high quality.  The kind of gloves you find a ***** sporting goods are basicly for show and maybe warmth during the winter.

Yeah he can wear gloves if he wants I guess

If he's skill position like qb te or wr then yeah the gloves would help. Don't matter. It's up to him.

really depends on him and what he wants,

but I'd reccommend that he learns how to properly tape his wrists, and his fingers...

I rather think the coach rather have you ask million question than none at all.

If you want to see him CATCH the ball and score a touchdown then yes

My coach won't let me (I am a wide receiver) but gloves would be very helpful.  Feel the surface of the gloves they practically catch the ball themselves.  I would have your son see if anyone else is wearing them then if if people are ask the coach if it is ok.

yea he should probally wear gloves so if they throw a HARD pass it will be easy to catch

well it would be good to have football gloves if he's a good tight end who also receives passes so  yes.
