My 14 year old son started his freshman yr of high school. He was so excited up every morning to catch bus by 6:40am, loves his classes, teachers and is real optimistic about homework. He also joined A+ program and is interested in mentoring. He loves his family and has lots of friends, very likable and everyone likes him including teachers. One evening last week him and a friend were picture texting , just goofen around. They were sending pics of bad tasted such as sunglasses on a p***s but total cropped. The next day at school the other boy had fwd it to a boy who added more pics to original and fwd it to other kids. Needless to say there were suspensions, the boy who had added on got 180, there were two 10 and one 3. At first the principal called and said my son did not do it in school so his hands were tied, 3 days later he called and said my son will get 10 days for distributing pornography and disrupting school. We have a meeting to determine whether or not there will be more then 10 days out. Of course as a mother I find that it is inappropriate to text and that it was i in bad tasted but I also choose pick my battles. He does not do drugs, he is respectful, and he did not intend for this text to be forwarded and it was not on school property nor was it during school hours. I feel that what my child does at home it is my responsibility to discipline. What do you think?

  1. All in ALL I think you have a GOOD Kid who made a Big Mistake...all you can do is RIDE out the Suspension and make sure he learns from it...KIDS...EVEN GOOD KIDS make mistakes...don't sweat it too much...I believe your son just didn't think and NOW he is paying a HIGH price...he sounds like the type of Boy who will learn from this...just make sure he keeps up on his STUDIES...get all homework assignments and have him do them so he doesn't fall behind the subject matter...OF COurse they won't accept them for CREDIT...but he can stay up on the subject matter...call each Teacher and ask what they are doing in class during his suspension time...~~Good Luck MOM..Remember this TOO Shall PASS~~

  2. Well Lucky he's NOT PIE'S Kid...she would have had him Put to Sleep by now...

PIE...Lighten up! He's 14...YES we Teens make mistakes! But I'm SURE YOU NEVER DID! LOL..and neither will your "Perfect" Children..am I right? Boy are you IN For a SURPRISE!

  3. You're right, if it wasn't during school, it is not any of their business! Chances are if the school see's your upset, they will side with you! Good luck!

  4. I think someone better lower the boom now instead of patting his head and giggling and turning their heads.  Inappropriate? I'd say. I'm glad the school took the initiative to discipline the ones who offended. If this is how he's acting at 14, what do you think he'll do at 24? 34? 54? You had no idea that he was doing this in your home and sending it to his school friends, and you call it "goofin around".  Sexually explicit pictures of himself, and you call it "goofin around".  How sad.

  5. Since he seems like a very bright, mature boy. i think you should let it slide bc his punishment is not being able to see his friends, girls r probaly gonna look at him weird once he gets backs to school

  6. wow...see, this is the kind of sh*t im talkin about. these d**n schools are corrupt pieces of c**p. Is what goes on on the internet ANY of their buissness? no and your son didnt deserve that suspension. what i would do is complain by writing a letter and the school will probably lighten up

  7. i think u shud have a talk wit ur son's Principal
