seems to have taken a dip in eating. Shes always been a great eater but now i feel there are days she barely eats! Shes still sleeping fine, and is a happy little soul but is this normal?

She started walking 2 months ago so i assumed with her being a lot more active she would eat more!

Im not deeply concerned as shes happy and healthy but just wondered if there are other people going through a similar experience.

thanks

  1. My children are 2,4 and 6. Some days they hardly eat anything others they would eat the plate the food was on. It depends if they are going through a growth spurt, are tired, aren't feeling well, or are bored.

It's how children are. Prepare yourself for next week when she'll probably be the opposite!

  2. I am having exactly the same problem with my 16 month old daughter. She will eat breakfast and then not touch her dinner. She has gone off most things she loved, she wont touch toast at breakfast. She is bored of sandwiches which she also loved. Its all trial and error with kids and food.

  3. It is very normal for them to lose interest in eating as they get more independant...they are too busy learning to care much about food. She will eat what she needs and unless she looses weight or shows other symptoms you shouldnt worry. Avoid trying to give her things between meals (apart from fruit) as she will get into the habit of snacking...just stick to 3 regular mealtimes and dont fret about it infront of her...they hear and learn very fast and many chil;den start to use eating as a bargaining tool....dont say anything to her or about her eating to others when she is present...just give her her meal and neither praise  her for eating nor tell her to finish the food....just talk about other things to her when she is eating. She'll have a grwoth spurt and you wont be able to fill her up next!

  4. this is very normal she will b fine just let her eat what she wants 2 eat give her some snacks if she don't want to eat much in a day

  5. amybe she is trying to become anorexic

  6. my niece is 14 months and is doing the same thing, my sister, (her mom) is a dietition and she sas it is perfecty normal so i think youre good, i'd ask a doctor just 2 b sure though...:) good luck.

  7. I have the hardest time getting my two year old to eat much of anything besides cereal.  It is really hard and it makes going to the pediatrician very hard.  He feel like a terrible mother because she doesn't weigh more.  Getting her to eat is a nightmare.  So, I sympathize with you.

  8. don't let her watch tv, she might have pick up annorexica from that gossip girls show.

  9. Well kids eating habits may change a lot of times over their childhood. My baby brother rarely eats all his food from his plate but is gaining weight.

  10. My son is 15 months old as well and most days he is totally uninterested in food and I struggle to get more than a few spoonfuls into him. We have a week or so like this, and then he eats LOADS in one day! I don't know where he gets his energy from most of the time because he never stops running around!

I know a lot of other children like this and I don't think it's too much to worry about.
