Question:

My 150cc scooter starts, idles and runs fine, but when I put a load on it will not hit that next level. Help!

Brand new 4 stroke only 40 miles on it

  1. I would suspect the fuel filter may have some blockage.


  2. In addition to a clogged fuel line, it could also be a partially clogged jet in the carburetor.

  3. For future reference, always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.

    Perhaps the CVT clutch is stuck or the belt is slipping.

    Put the scoot on the centerstand.

    Start and rev the engine (be careful not to let the rear wheel touch the ground).

    Rev the engine to get the rear wheel spinning fast and lock up the rear brake.

    Do this continuously - rev-stop-rev-stop-rev-stop.

    The jerking motion of the belt spinning and stopping may free up the clutch (if that's the problem)
