  1. Your best bet is to ask the doctor what his condition is called (get him to write it down for you or spell it out) and then do a web search for it. Most conditions will have an internet support group these days, and you will be able to find other parents whose kids have the condition.

Good luck and I hope your little one is OK.

  2. I was referred to an ENT for a possible tongue tie for my son.  The neurologist said that ENT's are the experts so I would ask one of them.  It might be good to see one anyway to see if there could be any problems in this area.

  3. Is it that thing that connects the tongue to the bottom of your mouth?   My niece had that.  They said she was tongue tied. They took her into the doctors office, and snipped it just a little.    She is ok now.   Good luck, I hope this was helpful in some way

  4. I wouldn't recommend surgery unless he is having trouble eating or breathing.  There are some disorders in which a large tongue, which is a muscle, is a symptom, like down's syndrom, but your doctor should know more about that.  By the way, a large tongue is called macroglossia.  You may be able to find something helpful online.
