He has good GCSE results and is going to do 3 sciences and maths at A level. He is thinking of flying or dentistry (big difference I know) Does anyone have any information that he might find interesting?

  1. Erm you may want to post this in the appropriate section.

This is not a chat room.

  2. I spent 5 years in the R A F true it was a long time ago but it was the best 5 years of my life never regretted a moment of it lots of comradeship loads to do in sport and other things for more that may help you go here

    http://www.raf.mod.uk/careers/

  3. He should join the RAF Air Cadets.

This will give him a better insight not only to joining the RAF but to what he wants to do in the RAF.

This also helps him to gain experience,

possibly improving his chances of being accepted.

This also means its only like one night a week or something so he is able to study for a levels at college too.

I don't know where you are from so am unable to search for you. Perhaps you could search in google *place you are from* and then air cadets. This should lead to you finding a local base.

If this is not an option and he doesn't want to join the air cadets perhaps you should ring up you're local RAF office (once again search on google for it) and ask them to send you all relevant information. I'm sure they will be happy to help.

    Good luck!

  4. I was in the air cadets myself and I have worked for the MOD as a civilian affiliated with the RAF so I am more than qualified to  unreservedly say.... DO DENTISTRY.

  5. first of all, you have to make up your mind on either flying or dentistry. since he is interested in RAF, i would recommend flying. however, it is not possible with GCSE alone. he has to do physics and maths A-levels, and one other subject and take on a pilot degree at university, or some related degree like aeronautical engineering. then he could go for pilot training and get a licence. you see, it is a long procedure but it is worth considering if you dream for it. good luck from me and do well.

  6. RAF shoot missiles at the taliban and kill civilians who are next to them. Collateral damage apparently. Life is cheap.
