  1. My one started to be a fussy eater at that age too... and he still is now, a year later.  One week, he will eat something and the week after, he'll refuse the exact same stuff!  It's maddening.

I try not to give in though and always insist that he AT LEAST try what's in the plate.  Failure to do so results in removal from the table and a warning that he'll have to wait until the next meal.  No dessert, nothing else. When he's hungry, he's less likely to refuse that next meal.

Don't fret too much however, fruits and cheese are good.  But slow down on the vegemite, it's full of salt.

  2. Each toddler is different within tastes, etc,no one could really exact give the correct advice, perhaps a visit to your local nurse could tho, being the expert on the subject i'm sure she could offer a few good choices, best luck.

  3. Why do you want him to eat meat?  Vegetarian diets are healthier and kinder.

His diet doesn't sound awful.  I am guessing he eats the vegemite on bread, so that's one more thing he eats.  Let him see you enjoying vegetables, and introduce him to new, steamed or raw veggies on a regular basis.  Most kids love carrots steamed until soft but not mushy.  Red bell pepper and cucumber are often big hits, too.  Those are my top recommendations for picky eaters, but try many others, too:  cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, squash, asparagus, etc., etc.

Also try soups.  Lentil or lentil-vegetable is good.

  4. skip the meat -he can get protein in many other ways like eggs, nuts, and soy products.  reduce the amount of milk products in his diet and feed him a balanced meal -food from all of the food groups.  serve these in small portions.

  5. As you may know, kids tend to do what they want, when they d**n want! Specially toddlers!  My daughter went through (frustrating) phases too.... from eating anything and everything to only eating vegetables & milk... and now all she eats is meat, i cant get her to eat any veges at all.

Because you cant "force" kids to eat what we want them to eat, it gets frustrating as they test us by letting us know what they dont want to eat. So I'd say dont worry, dont stress, my friend's 2 y.o only ever eats cereals for breakfast lunch & dinner... so she gives him a high vitamins toddler milk drink to keep his vitamins up. Maybe you can give your child this as a supplement if you are concerned. But i'd say it will be ok, it will pass & your child will be as healthy and as happy as any other.

  6. there are fruit veges drinks that tast like fruit and for meat there  that you can give them like penabutter and eggs
