The rash was mild at first, but now spreading all over his arms and legs. If it is laundry detergent, should it be on his belly? Could it be a food allergy? Rash is dark pink. No fever. I have put hydrocortisone on it, but it only works for a little while. Doctor visit needed?

  1. Yes definitely take him to the doctor! Rashes can be for numerous things...may even be some type of a virus...my suggestion would be to take him in!

  2. I would take him to his doctor and let them look at it. It could be a reaction, or it even could be eczema, which is what my son has. It is a pink rash with little bumps on it that itch and it is hard to control sometimes. If it is not on his stomach, my bet would be some type of irritant or eczema. If he was having a reaction to something it would probably spread to his stomach, back, and face by now. Meanwhile, try some aquaphor or eucerine cream for the itch..Some hydrocortizone creams may not help they might irritate the problem

  3. i agree! there is no shame in worrying about your child! it is never silly to take them to the dr. a moms job is to care and protect her children! it may end up being just a simple allergic reaction, but i wouldnt chance it. if youre very concerned, call your drs private number. they will probably just suggest a oatmeal bath, a calming lotion, hydrocortison or aquafor (which i love and use for everything, including diaper rashes and crusty noses!!), or maybe just a good dose of benedryl (my suggestion).
