Im from Australia, so nothing too out there haha.

Okay, so i have a few religious friends who cant eat out at most places, and then i have a heap of other friends who wont be old enough to drink or go to a bar or club.

Ive thought about having a party at my house, in the back yard, but i cant think of any good ideas or a theme or a way to get people to want to come, and to go home saying how much fun they had.

Its really hard!!! any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

  1. You could rent some pop up tents or buy one from Home Depot.  They are called EZ-Up tents.  Very easy to use (hence the name!) and some come with sides you can velcro on in case of bad weather.  How about a luau theme?  Check out www.partycity.com or www.partyamerica.com.  Having it at your house is definitely cost friendly!  You could have a BBQ. People love BBQ and it's easy to do!  Get a bunch of burgers, hot dogs, chips, salsa, brownies or cupcakes, soda, etc.  Pick up some coolers or big plastic tubs to put soda and bottled water in.  You can get all kinds of fun decorations at a party supply store or similar places like Target, Walmart, etc.  Get some colorful streamers, balloons and wall decorations.  You could make a fun colored punch.  You could send the invitation out via www.evite.com.  They have LOTS of cool invitations you can use for free!  Oh and you can get those tiki torches too.  You just put them in the ground.  Great for effect...check out partycity.com.  I know they sell them as do a lot of other places this time of year.  Just think simple...you'll want a lot of finger foods, drinks, and good music.  You could also have a movie night and watch a bunch of fun movies, make tons of popcorn...you could create movie themed party...again, check out partycity.com.  You could have big containers of movie theatre type candy and sodas, hot dogs pretzels, nachos....That would be kind of cool.  Just my thoughts!  Good luck with your planning!

  2. Have a disco themed party! It's fun and it never, ever fails to keep the spirits up. Hang up some of those shiny disco balls, streamline your cd collection and get out the good numbers, serve up some cold mocktails, good finger food and clear the living to room so it can double up as the dance floor. Your on!

  3. instead of blowing out 18 candles, have 18 shots :-) you can do the shots with punch so you dont get too wasted.

  4. what ever you do have a happy 18th birthday

  5. u can put cigar's instead of candles on ur cake

  6. You could rent a van/bus, and go with a group of friends around the area. Play games, have fun! =D
