My 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport has Very Low RPM's and it will sometimes die on me when I am stoped at a red light

My 1994/1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport has Very Low RPM's and it will sometimes die on me when I am stoped at a red light... What can this be? If I coast down a hill and let off of the gas pedal the RPM's go below 500!? Samething if I set at a red light and sometimes then it will just die on me. When and if it does die on me, it will not start back up real quickly? It will take it a few seconds for it to fire up? Thanks for helping!
