It almost feels as if something is slipping into place on the driver's side front. I just had the McPherson's struts and shocks changed, new tires, alignments, new springs, etc. Can anyone give me some clues to what it might be, and if it's safe to drive for a few more days...I know the answers will only be guesses, but I hate to walk into a garage without some kind of idea.

  1. Yes, you could be right about that.  It could be the strut bearing wore out, or even a broken spring, or even the strut had finally gave way.  Or it could even be a bearing for the axle, or a steering component, or brake caliper.

  2. sounds like the driver side motor mount may be bad the engine turns clockwise when sitting in the car looking forward when you speed up it lifts the motor mount off the frame then once it catches up it comes back down. if you put a bar between the engine and frame and pull down and look at the motor mount you can see it come apart and that will verify that it's the mount.

  3. motor mounts..

  4. it could be universal u joint is bad

  5. sounds like the transmission

  6. Might be universal joints, have the garage check those as well. It also could be your bearings/seals, have those looked at too.

  7. most likely is the motor mounts or a bad CV joint (axle)

  8. bad CV joint or one of the motor mounts could be bad.
