  1. Exhaust manifold bolts are famous for getting very rusted. If one of them breaks off, it can be a real pain getting it out. Unless you are a good mechanic, I wouldn't recommend you try removing them. Take the car to a repair shop and let them deal with it. You will need a drill and bit and an easy out to remove the bolt, if it comes out. They sometimes require being drilled out completely and the hole re-threaded.

  2. Soak them in Kroil Oil over night.  May need a second application.  See if you can remove them....  don't muscle it, easy does it!  If you can't get them off then have a garage work on it.

Kroil Oil has worked many times for me.

  3. Well you decide if it is a good time to remove the engine replace the clutch motor mounts engine wiring harness clean out the EGR system replace all the rubber hoses install custom exhaust system headers. Or get really excited and replace the entire long block while you have the motor out. Rusty Northern cars exhaust can be really bad when you start working on it. If the manifold is leaking on either side get ready to remove the motor drilling out broken studs is next to impossable inside the engine compartment.
