My 1995 Dodge Avenger Don't Wanna Start?

i have a 1995 Dodge avenger an i have replaced the relay switch an every thing got a new computer and everything but it still wont start.Could it be the battery not giving it power or what i will crank it but it wont start it will act like it wants to start but it won't if someone could help me please. Do i need a battery b/c right now were we have tryed to crank it a its dead. HELP!!!

  1. I doubt that you need a battery. you need a mechanic, if you just start changing stuff it can cost more than a mechanic, and still not start. battery will need charged. what were the first problems you were having?


  2. 2 things you could check, thats to see if its getting gas to the injectors and check for fire at the plugs. if no fire, change the ballast resister and check the module. if no gas, check the fuel pump and change the gas filter.

  3. check the compression, timing, tuneup, check for plugged exhaust, air filter plugged, (if you are getting fuel and spark), otherwise, check the emissions components, cam.crank sensors, ignition coil(s), is there a MIL luminated in the dash?  if so, check for codes.  Also, make sure you have fuel in the tank.  you can access manufacturers codes by turning the ignition key to "on" (not to start) and off three times and then leave in "on" position.  the engine light will flash.  long flashes, pause short flashes to get 2 digit codes.  This will help narrow down the problem if codes are stored.
