Question:

My 1998 Galant has 4 spark-plugs. Does this mean its an inline-4?

I ask because I don't know what a V6 looks like.

  1. if it has only 4 spark plugs it's a 4 cylinder, a v-6 would have 6, 3 on each side


  2. An inline will have the plugs all in a row whereas a V-engine will have two on either side on about a 45-degree angle. A flat-four-opposed will have two on either side horizontally.  

  3. yes its 4 spark plugs means ever cylinder has its spark plug whcich ignites the fuel in the combistion where the piston goes up and down so if  you 6 spark plugs you will basically have a v shape engine 3 spark plug on each side which means 3 cyl on each side if its 8 spark plug its V8 same thing v shape engine 4 on each side u dig that now bro....
