the tires were put on because they were needed and thought that is what the noise was from..i just bought it....the front right tire, where the noise was coming from was more bald then the other tires, if that means anything that could be wrong...it drives good and is aligned..and has proper balance and weights on the tires

  1. Wheel bearing is likely culprit or CV joint as mentioned by other posters....I would also have the brakes checked too.....loose pad or shoe or cylinder or bad rotor could hum and make noise......take car to Midas......they will find your problem.......have found mine for years when I could not fix it...........driveway mechanic************

  2. It is a wheel bearing.

How to check?  I will not assume responsibility, only when I do it.

I jack up the car and secure it well.  Run front wheels in drive and listen.  Tires can NOT be a factor in this test.  It is best done by a garage, since they will not charge you a cent anyhow, and it might save your car, your life or someone else's.

If not heard, then the only thing missing is weight, up to 1400 pounds, and you can do nothing about that, except change a bearing to solve it.

  3. sounds like a typical description of a bad wheel bearing and if its bad enough to be causing a wear issue on the tires it needs to replaced soon, if your mechanic did an alignment on it like this its time for a new mechanic and another alignment after the bearing has been repaired

  4. I would take a look at the wheel bearings and/or the CV joint at that wheel. I'm guessing wheel bearings...

  5. Find yourself a nice, soft dirt road and take a drive on ot. If the noise is gone, it's tires. If the noise is still there then it's probably wheel bearing(s).

  6. wheel bearing
