  1. Do your friends know any of the upper class men? hang around them when they do! don't be afraid to ask a teacher where something is, I had to ask a librarian where my class was, and found out I was on the wrong side of the building! I'm gonna  be a junior this year, and if you just take it easy it's gonna be awesome! Be friendly with the teachers... being buddies (but not teacher's pets) with the teachers is a perk. My science teacher would get me out of everything!

  2. Its going to be alright and dont get nervous about it. You will get used to it by the 5th day of highschool. Normally on the first five days the hallways are crowded and so is lunch but dont freak out about it. Be social and be nice. Don't be someone your not.

  3. Im like you but im not really going to high school im going to college and im a freshman too at a high school and i felt the same way but if you have any friends that are going into the same grade as you thats a big help but if you have now friends going to the same high school as you make friends also it helps to network (means make friends to make more friends)

  4. JUST RELAXXX AND IN TIME WILL YOU WILL ADJUST TO HIGHSCHOOL!!

  5. Realize there are others just as nervous as you going to high school for the first time. Ask someone who is also there for the first time where something is (for instance, the rest room). Or where the the Principals office is. This will relieve some of your anxiety.

Or go to the school a day or two before classes start and ask someone there where things are. Then you  will have a head start over other nervous students there for the first time. And it will make you feel good you are helping those new students. Lots of luck and know, after a few days you will feel like you have been in your school forever. Marty

  6. Well in high school, things are a lot bigger. Like the students, teachers, and buildings. You also get more homework than junior high but don't let that get you down. Millions of students like you are entering high school for the first time. And it can be scary. But just relax. Just be yourself and you can make some life-long friendships. You can make some friends by joining in some after school clubs and sports. And also just by talking to the person beside of you. You can compliment on something they have to strike up a conversation. Also, in high school, you know you have more homework than junior high. So be prepared to do that. Be organized and don't procrastinate. Doing that will make you feel behind in your classes and you can't catch up. Just pay attention to your teacher's lectures, take good notes, and do your homework first before crashing onto the computer. Have a schedule with you or a to-do list. Prioritized your things and tackle big assignments one at a time. And have some fun too. High school is one of the best years of your life. Make it like that and you will enjoy high school.

When I was a sophomore, I was scared too. I was the shortest person in my high school. But I got used it and now, I'm used to being around taller people.

    good luck!

  7. Its a piece of cake . . . don't be intimidated by "Upperclassmen" . . . they are kids just like you.  A few of them might try to spook some freshmen, but just don't play or react to them.  Let them know that you think they are childish and stupid . . . if they don't get a reaction they will just leave you alone.  The first couple days are actually fun, just watch some of the stuff they do . . . enjoy it, laugh about it, just don't let your fear ruin it for you . . . High School is just about the best time of your life.  People usually don't really relax until their Senior year . . . enjoy it while you can, after this you have to go out into the real world . . .

  8. i just got done with highschool; and trust me. its like a mature version of middleschool with more freedom lol. same immature stuff, but more things to do, and new people to meet =]

  9. aaahh, being a freshman in high school, i remember those days like they were yesterday. you just brought back alot of memories!! i guess it hasn't changed since i was  freshman years ago, and believe me the nervous feelings are just normal. i had them, you are not the first and your won't be the last to have them. just so you would know, not only freshman have these feeling but so do sophomores, juniors and yes even seniors!! and it's only natural for you not to feel out of sorts in not knowing your way around high school....because you never been there, and it's ok to feel nervous just don't let it get the best of you. if it's anything like how i know it is, there will be teachers and administrators out in the hallways guiding students to their correct destination. so don't fret! just pair up with a friend so that you two can encourage each other and not freak out! FYI, i don't know if your school district does this but some schools have a designated day for students and/or parents to come out to the school and get familiar with the campus and staff. take advantage of that if you do have one. regardless, don't freak out about being nervous because it's totally normal! just keep your cool and everything will be ok. have fun and school and learn something!! :)

  10. High school is an amazing experience and you should not be scared at all.  I am a rising senior in high school, and I moved right before entering high school, so I had to go to a school where I did not know anyone.  It was scary at first but you make friends quickly and you will learn your way around.  I did not know any upper classmen either, but all the ones I asked for help were completely willing to help me despite me being a freshman.  Make sure that you make a lot of friends, along with keeping your studies and entering extra curricular activities.  And try to make a friendship out of your relationship with your teachers because it will help when it comes to colleges and teacher recommendations.

  11. Well darl...first of all, relax.. Everything will be ok.

High school really isn't much different than any other school you've already attended.

Ok, about being lost in the school...No matter how large it is...you're not going to be the only one who is confused on the first day...and after about the first week, you'll get it all down to a T. Get to know the upper classmen, it's not too hard. Most are pretty nice to the freshmen...they'll be helpful as long as you're not a butthead. I hope this helps...just try to keep your cool

  12. just stick with your friends and you'll be fine, and also try and make new friends. have fun!

  13. this happens to everyone. it took me one week to know my way in the building. if you get lost just ask any teacher they will tell you where your class is. first few days are always intimidating. don't hesitate to ask help of teachers and your classmates who are going through the same thing.
