  1. It is very possible, however you really need to take a look at this: http://www.icpa4kids.org/research/chirop...

  2. No, it's not an allergic reaction- it's a side effect of the antibiotics.  Antibiotics do not seek out and kill any specific bacteria in any specific place.  They spread out through the entire body, killing whatever bacteria they come in contact with.  In your son's colon there are loads of friendly bacteria we all have and need to help with digestion.  Without those, dairy products in particular can't be digested properly.  The result is diarrhea.  Speak with the pediatrician and ask about a non-dairy formula if he's still taking formula.  If not, then cut out the milk and dairy products.  Swap over to a soy or rice milk, and cut out all the cheese, etc.  Feed him plenty of rice cereal, white rice, bananas, applesauce, crackers and white bread/toast.  You can also feed him things like Cheerios- the plain sort though.  Stick to this, and plain meats and veggies - omitting any that ordinarily loosen him up, like corn and raisins, obviously.  This should slow or stop the diarrhea for you.  Once he's finished the antibiotics, you will want to feed him an organic yogurt with live bacterial cultures. Whatever flavor he likes best is fine, just be sure it's sweetened with sugar and not fake stuff or honey.  He'll need a carton or two a day for two or three days, to replace the gerbies he needs, and then he can have the dairy products back again.  In the meantime, the sore tushie will appreciate a bit of vitamin e oil - squeeze from the cheapie gelcaps right on the spot.  Keep him drinking whatever clear liquids you can get down him, and make sure you are getting around 10 wet diapers per day.  If the diarrhea doesn't slow or stop within a day of ridding the dairy products, get in touch with the doctor to see about changing the antibiotic or giving him something to slow down things.  Good luck dear.  Poor sweetie, take care of that tushie too!
