It has been almost a year since he has told me that. Any advice on what is going on and how to stop this. It is not because he is mad and has not gotten his way, it is when he gets hurt or is just not feeling well. BTW: He is my 3rd child and the other 2 never did this.

  1. Get him to another doctor right away....

  2. Sounds like breath holding spells. He doesn't do it on purpose and your doctor is right...he will outgrow it (ofcourse, that doesn't make it any less scary when it happens!) Good luck.

  3. My daughter (who is the girl in this picture btw) cries almost to that point. Seems like she runs out of breath and is trying to catch air. You poor thing I bet this must be really scary for you. I believe he will grow out of the stage. Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do to stop this. However if it continues for more than a year I would get a second opinion or even get a second opinion now If your are very concerned about it. I am really sorry to hear this.

  4. my cousins kids did that every time they cryed she has 3 boys and they cry for what ever reason and get so worked up they pass out, her doctor said the same thing they would grow out of it, and her oldest is 18 he no longer dose it but the 13 year old and 7 year old still do it. I guess they get so worked up they forget to breath is what she says good luck

  5. Have you thought of bringing him to a pulmonary or heart specialist...to me this just doesn't sound normal.  I would if it were my child.  Good luck.

  6. I use to do that when I was a baby. The doctor told my mom I would grow out of it too. Im an adult now and seem to be ok.

Im sure its scary when it happens, but rest assure your doctor knows what he's doing. My Mom had her doubts too.

  7. The problem is that he is spoiled and when he strat it up just dissapline him . Thats all i can think of or talk to him play games sing alond get him in day care

    ITS, BETTER THAN NOTHING

  8. I actually work with a woman whose two-year-old still does this. It's a lot more common than people think! When he starts getting really worked  up, he cannot catch his breath and will pass out -- just as your son does. Her pediatrician suggested blowing in his face and it works. When he starts getting out of control with his crying, simply blow in his face and it will cause him to catch his breath. (You've seen how if you blow in an infant's face, they will gasp? Same thing.)

He will grow out of it, though, so don't worry. Good luck!

  9. my cuzin had this problem it was her asmatha it could either be he has asmatha or heart pproblems take him to another doctor good luck!
