My 2 lovebirds flew away and mom came back. i bought a new mate for her but she doesn't like him. why?

Mom had been with her old mate for over a year. they have breed once. I seperated mom and the new mate before puting them in the same cage. She doesnt even let him eat?!?

Maybe you should have them in separate cages for awhile next to each other for awhile. She may be grieving for her old mate.  Just cause they are called love birds doesn't mean that she will automatically like the new bird right away.
