My 2 month old flinging her ear, normal?

For like the last week my baby has been messing with her left ear and sometimes right. When I am feeding her, she will repeatedly run her hand by her ear over and over. Kind of like flinging her ear. When I took her to the doctor, I mentioned it to him and he said her ear drum looked fine. If she had an ear infection, what would she be like? fussy? fever???

  1. My son has done this since a few months to current and he is 3. He does it when he is tired :) I doubt its an ear infection. Soon enough you will pick up what it means.

  2. her ear is fine. its her going "hmm whats this thing sticking out from the side of my head??" my baby is 8 months and likes to rub right behind her ear, I think its a comfort thing

  3. My 9 y.o had ear infections starting a 4 months old. She had fevers and would wake-up screaming in her sleep. Or at the sound of loud noises.

When she was almost a year old we learned she was allergic to cats & dogs. Which caused post-nasel drip and then the ear infections.

If the doctor looked and said she was fine I would go along with it. Next time have the doctor show you her ear drum (you can look in the ottoscope too). So you can see healthy and unhealthy.
