My 2 year old, healthy cat, just recently lost her voice? She just squeaks now. Is something wrong?

She squeaks when we pick her up, or when she has to try to meow, (When she's angry and such) Otherwise, she seems perfectly healthy. I love her to death, and a little thing like this is scaring me, I want to make sure she's okay. Anyone know what it is and what I could do?

when it happened to my cat she had an infected tooth.

is she allowed outside?

if so maybe something attacked her.

This happened to my cat twice.  We took her to the vet and he said she was fine.  She prob. just ate something outside (if shes an outide cat) but I would take her to the vet just incase.  You would never want to take chances with her!

She might have ate a squeaking toy.
