My 2 year old has just accidentally spilled his bubble mixture and is really upset...

Question

What percentage water to washing up liquid an I mix for perfect bubbles? It would really cheer him up.

I like the second one, because I remember using sugar in my bubble mixtures when I was a kid, and it made a much stronger bubble.

Also, add about a tablespoon of karo or corn syrup to the bubble mixture - it will make longer lasting bubbles.

Depends on the size of the bubble container. But I usually fill the container up about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch in the bottom with bubbles. May seem like a lot but it makes really good bubbles that don't pop really easy. My son loves them. It also depends on the liquid you are using. If its a thinner, cheaper soap you may need to use a little more.

I think it's a 1/4 ratio with liquid soap being the "1".  Be warned that it doesn't work nearly as well as the commercial ones.  You might get a bubble or 2 from each dip.

Try the 1/2 & 1/2 first.....the homemade version does not bubble up like the commercial ones.  If the mixture is too thick, add a little bit more water.   Add a drop or two of food coloring....he will enjoy it too!

You can make him some more so he learns that whatever troubles he has in life, someone else will come and make it better.  Or you can leave him upset so he learns that actions have consequences.  Your call.

I found some bubbles at the dollar store that come with a spill proof top my daughter didn't spill any at all.Time to get more bubbles.
